INSIDE THE TWILIGHT MOVIE

Looking the success of the post of Montepulciano I think that could be the occasion to focus and give importance to details.
Do you remember the "Twilight" movie?
And this scene?

Probably not everyone know that the place was Montepulciano and especially the main square in front of the cathedral.
Indeed Piazza Grande is one of the most beautiful square of Italy with a wonderful cathedral at the center of the square there is the well with coat of arms Medici designed from Antonio da Sangallo and one of main palace of Italy. Around this square worked important artists and architects of the Renaissance one of this is the famous Antonio da Sangallo but also Michelozzo and Ippolito Scalza.

Starting from the cathedral you are in front of an important reinaissance building designed from Ippolito Scalza. It was imagined like the other churchs around the area for example Pisa and Florence unfortunately it wasn't finished at all but I'm sure that you can see the elegance and the armony researched from the Renaissance age.
Inside has some treasures that give more value and uniqueness to the church how the bas-relief with Virgin Mary who blesses the family of Aragazzi, a font of Andrea della Robbia and Madonna di San Martino that bring legends of miracles a really icon for the inhabitants.
Continuing on the square on the right of the cathedral there is the Comunal Palace that remember Palazzo della Signoria of Florence designed from Michelozzo. From 15 April will reopen the tower where you can go for see a magical view of the valley. Inside are interesting the ancient well and nineteenth headstones.
If you change side of the square you find the well of Grifi e dei Leoni (griffins and lions) also this designed from Antonio da Sangallo and represent the Medici coast of arms between two lions.

 Behind the wall there is the palace of Capitano del Popolo which is really ancient dating since about 1200. The building has tipical caracteristic fourteenth and was the place where resides the governor Montepulciano inside you can find the study center of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano which tell you the history and help you discover that product.
I already talked in the last post about the Palace of  Nobili Tarugi so the last one is  Enoteca Poliziano very important cellar of Montepulciano and for you will be a beautiful experience to visit.
